motorhomeMotorHome Magazine: Earn $500 Writing about Motor Home Travel

MotorHome Magazine accepts article and photo submissions from freelance writers. All articles must contain a strong RV focus and be suitable for a mature RV-focused audience.

The magazine features several sections, including:

Travel Articles: travel destinations featured in the magazine must be accessible by motorhome. The editors prefer adventure articles that highlight lesser-known destinations and should include information about campgrounds, road restrictions, where to park and any key attractions in the area. Length should be between 800 and 1,800 words.

DIY Articles: technical feature articles about DIY RV projects should be around 1,200 words long and should be accompanied by photos or illustrations.

Lifestyle Articles: the lifestyle section focuses on recreational activities or hobbies that are appropriate for motorhome travellers.

MotorHome Magazine purchases first North American rights and nonexclusive electronic rights for original articles only. No reprints will be accepted. Freelance writers will receive a freelance contract outlining all publishing terms if an article is accepted for publication.

Payment is between $400 and $700 for published freelance articles, depending on which section your article is published within. Payment for photos is around $100 to $150.

Queries by snail-mail only – no email queries will be accepted. Freelance writers are strongly encouraged to read the submission guidelines carefully before submitting any manuscripts. It’s also wise to read some previous issues of the magazine to gain a feel for the editor’s preferred tone and style.
